#ChildAbuseAwareness

Prevention of child abuse is a cause close to my heart, as people I know and love have been affected by child abuse, including dear friends and family members. The number on the poster is for the USA, but I'm researching international aid and I'll be adding links for different places as I find and research them.

If you have links to anything regarding this subject, or if you have artwork that represents it, please don't hesitate to comment or note me and I'll include it below. My goal with this piece is to raise awareness of the help that is available, as well as promote activism and to encourage people to read the literature regarding abuse.

This isn't just about children reaching out for help, but also for people reaching out to help children. Never think you're powerless. There's a hero inside everyone.

I should warn people to not call child protective services just because they're angry at that child or the parent, because if the parent(s) did NOTHING WRONG AT ALL, you've just ruined the whole child's family's life, INCLUDING THE CHILD. Personally, they should do more research before they take a kid away. OH NO! THIS KID LIVES IN A TRAILER HOME WITHOUT A POOL OR AN EXPENSIVE GAMING SYSTEM! D8 THEY'RE BEING ABUSED! WE MUST PROTECT THIS POOR TORTURED CHILD AND GIVE IT ANYTHING IT WANTS AND SPOIL IT AND STARVE IT!
:iconlegaspplz: Forgive me, it's just that CPS really pisses me off. Haven't seen my "cousins" since the 13th of October, LAST YEAR. Makes you bitter towards child protective services. Now one of them says they see dead people and the other is in a nuthouse, according to the lawyer.
